idaho, who knew?
Currently I am writing from a couch in Twin Falls, Idaho in a house owned by Effect Radio. I think.
The last 24 hours have been so lovely, I just have to tell you about it. There’s a bit too much to be grateful and joyful over so I’ll list them and hopefully that will somehow make me more concise.
1. Yesterday started with reading Matthew and had some confusion about zombies after Jesus is crucified and the curtain to the temple is torn. I asked Melissa Theide what the deal was. She said simply, “If you cannonball into a pool you expect some water to splash out of it right? Well Jesus cannonballed into death itself.” Boomshakalaka.
2. Amy Kelly, her encouragement, and her adorable laugh.
3. Taking pictures with the teammates while holding hands and looking sassy.
4. Ice Cream.
5. Bryan Bacon from River Christian Fellowship and his immense heart for people Jesus associated Himself with. He spoke before and after our screening on Matthew 25:31-46. I remember hearing these verses for the first time and being drawn to the Living God because of them.
6. The screening! Our first one! People responded so whole-heartedly to Joseph’s story and other LiNK media. It was so cool to see so many people stand up for North Koreans with such magnitude and in a variety of creative ways. People asked questions, prayed for North Korea, helped rescue refugees with their finances, and there was tiramisu. Maybe the best first screening ever.
7. Then this morning, after about 3 hours of sleep, I woke up to go see the sunrise at the Perrine Bridge with some girls from I met at the screening last night. If for some reason you have the opportunity to do this in your life, do it. Britt, a new friend, thanked God for His mercies that are new every morning and it could not have been more fitting as the sun came up. Then, grace upon grace, they brought me a latte, toast with homemade raspberry jam, and… eggs with cheese! How I missed thee! I got to see so much of the Lord this morning; Creator, Unifier, Conqueror, Bread of Life… it goes on.
Basically, Jesus.
