creation, salvation, creation, salvation…

Two days ago, Sean, Sharon, and I drove from Boise, Idaho to Missoula, Montana. It was hard to leave Boise and even harder to be greeted by Denny’s for dinner at 9 and a Holiday Inn parking lot as our shelter for the night, but we’re making the best of it and we leave Montana tomorrow!
Regardless of our feelings and reception in Missoula, I’m grateful for the journey we had here. We took Highway 55 the whole way, seven hours driving next to the very literally glorious Payette River. Even after several hours, you could still see two of us staring out the window, taking in the intensity and peace of it. My favorite part was when I was sitting in the back seat and I felt like the Holy Spirit was asking me to read the Word. I literally opened up to this:
Oh sing to the LORD a new song,
for he has done marvelous things!
His right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him.
The LORD has made known his salvation;
he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations.
He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness
to the house of Israel.
All the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.
Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing praises!….
Let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
the world and those who dwell in it!
Let the rivers clap their hands;
let the hills sing for joy together
before the LORD, for he comes
to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness,
and the peoples with equity.
(Psalm 98:1-4,7-9 ESV)
