n00b but learning
This past week I moved into the LiNK intern house, and my first week of training! I live in a house with about 20 people, 3 bathrooms, and an incredible amount of compassion, “y’alls”, and good conversation. Our training so far has consisted of hours of education from LiNK president Hannah Song and Movement Director Justin Wheeler on what the North Korean people face. Hannah is incredibly knowledgeable and wise, and carries an holistic understanding of the crisis. One day I hope I can walk in heels as well as she can. One nugget of wisdom Hannah shared with us is that passion isn’t enough to carry us forever. Knowledge is needed too or you will just burn out. I’ll mulling this over, and think I tend to agree. Perhaps you have thoughts to be shared on this topic. Every day I come home and have an intense need for some eternal hope. I read my Bible, usually shed a few tears, and am amazed at the network of people that are longing for freedom in North Korea, and specifically for refugees to come out of hiding into a promised land. It’s been intense, but I am relying on God to sustain me, physically, emotionally, and spiritually in a different way than ever before. It’s good. That’s my experience in brief. We started booking the tour on Friday and will be doing so till we leave. Crazy times still ahead!
